San Francisco, February 3, 2026 – As technology accelerates and competition for early-stage deals intensifies, we see an opportunity to reach promising startups earlier, support them earlier in their journey and build equity ownership from the start. That is why we’re launching a Scout Program to invest in pre-seed startups. This will give founders downstream capital continuity and earlier access to pilot and design partners within our LP network and global ecosystems. We believe this financial and strategic support can make a significant difference in a startup’s trajectory—and our investment portfolio.
We aim to co-invest in or lead pre-seed deals globally at their inception stage. While our core markets are North America and Europe, we remain open to founders worldwide building category-defining startups at the intersection of constructiontech, infrastructuretech, and real estate tech—what we call the Built World. Cem Mimaroglu, a seasoned early-stage multi-sector investor, will run this program.
Cem’s experience aligns with Zacua’s DNA. He has managed the portfolio of multiple industrial corporate VCs and runs a Built World–focused micro-VC with which we have closely collaborated. His track record shows how a global LP network and diverse perspective can accelerate a startup’s growth. He will focus on building a portfolio of innovative startups that serve their ecosystems and can graduate into Zacua’s core allocation focus—Pre-Series A, Series A, and beyond.
